Serious crash in West Terre Haute leaves one in critical condition, others injured

In West Terre Haute, Indiana, a serious two-vehicle accident left one person critically injured and two others with injuries. Emergency services were called just after 4 p.m. on Sunday to the intersection of State Road 63 and Durkees Ferry Road. A driver was trapped in an SUV upon their arrival. A preliminary inquiry by the Vigo County Sheriff's Office revealed that the SUV driver failed to yield the right of way to a Jeep heading southbound. The SUV driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from their seat to the passenger area and floorboard. They were airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital in critical condition. The Jeep driver and passenger were taken by ambulance to Union Hospital in stable condition. Various authorities, including the Vigo County Fatal Accident Construction Team, New Goshen Fire Department, TransCare EMS, and Vigo County Sheriff's Office, responded to the scene. The incident is currently under investigation.
