
Serious car crash in Madison County leaves Indianapolis man in critical condition
A young man from Indianapolis is in critical condition after a serious car accident in Madison County. The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning, involved the vehicle flipping over and coming to a stop on its roof on State Road 9 near County Road 800 North. The Madison County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash scene around 7:15 a.m. and called for assistance from their Crash Investigation Team due to the severity of the incident. Initial investigations suggest that the car was traveling northbound on SR 9, veered off the road into the median, crossed back onto the northbound lanes, and then ultimately rolled over onto its roof. Firefighters had to extract the trapped driver, an 18-year-old, who was later airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for critical care.
