
Senior Police Officer from Houston PD dies in car crash while conducting traffic escort
The Houston Police Department has sadly announced the passing of a senior police officer, Alex Roberts, who lost his life in a crash during a traffic escort in Anderson County on Wednesday. The incident is currently under investigation by the Anderson County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Chief J. Noe Diaz, Jr. expressed deep sorrow for the loss of Officer Roberts, recognizing his dedicated service to the department and the community. Additionally, Mayor John Whitmire shared condolences for the tragic loss not only of Officer Roberts but also of Houston Firefighter-Paramedic Stephen Scott. Both officials called for prayers for the families and colleagues of these brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Officer Roberts, who joined the force in November 2010 and served in the Traffic Enforcement Division, Solo Motorcycle Detail, will be honored in funeral services to be announced at a later time.
