
Semi-truck crash shuts down U.S. 60 in Mesa
The U.S. 60 freeway has been reopened after a fatal accident that occurred early Tuesday morning involving multiple vehicles. The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that a semi-truck carrying fuel was rear-ended by another vehicle around 2:30 a.m. near Lindsay Road in the eastbound lanes. The driver of the vehicle that struck the semi-truck was hospitalized with critical injuries and later succumbed to them. Another minor injury was also reported. The eastbound lanes were closed for hours but have now been cleared, while the westbound lanes were impacted by the closure. The identity of the deceased driver has not been disclosed.
