Seeking information after fatal hit-and-run causes hours-long traffic halt on I-85
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help following a fatal hit-and-run incident on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County. The collision occurred on the northbound side near mile marker 59, resulting in the death of a moped rider. The SUV involved in the crash reportedly struck the moped, with the moped's rider, identified as David Joseph Moreno, losing his life at the scene. The driver of the SUV was said to be unharmed, and initially, it was not clear if they fled the scene.
