Second person accused in deadly West Valley collision
A second man, Regino Mateo Mendoza, has been charged in connection with a July three-car crash that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old Tooele woman. The charges against Mendoza include automobile homicide, negligently operating a vehicle causing serious injury, and obstruction of justice, among others. The incident occurred on the Bacchus Highway, leading to a collision involving the vehicles driven by Mendoza, Madison Wagner, and Oswaldo Chavez Segovia. Mendoza initially lied about his involvement in the crash but was later found to be the driver of the Mazda involved. His attempt to flee the scene was intercepted, and a blood test indicated his blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit at the time of the crash. The driver of the Chevy involved, Chavez, was also charged in connection with the incident in July.
