
Search for armed individuals after pursuit and collision in south Chicago suburbs
A shelter-in-place order was put into effect while authorities search for four individuals who escaped on foot after a police pursuit and collision in the south suburbs of Chicago. Tinley Park police were assisting Matteson officers following a crash near Vollmer Road and Harlem Avenue. Five men, all wearing black clothing, fled the crash site heading westward, with suspicions that they may be carrying handguns. At 6:50 a.m., Tinley Park PD confirmed one individual was apprehended. The Will County Sheriff's Office also implemented a shelter-in-place for the vicinity of Harlem Ave. and Vollmer Rd in Frankfort Square as a precaution. There is uncertainty regarding injuries sustained during the incident.
