
Search for 3 Plane Passengers Missing in Pacific Grove Crash
The US Coast Guard has confirmed that three bodies were recovered off the coast of Pacific Grove after a private plane crash. The Coast Guard reported that three individuals were on board the aircraft. Rescue teams have been searching for survivors since Saturday night. Multiple agencies, including the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, Pacific Grove Police, Coast Guard, and CAL FIRE, are responding to the incident near Asilomar. The crash took place around 200 to 300 yards off Point Pinos. Sunset Drive is temporarily closed between Jewell Avenue and Pico Avenue. The plane, identified as Flight N8796R, a Beech 95-B55 Baron, departed from San Carlos Airport and crashed near Sunset Drive and Jewell Avenue around 10:38 p.m. Emergency responders were activated after receiving a lost radar alert and 911 calls. Witnesses heard an aircraft engine and then a splash in the ocean. Debris from the aircraft is washing ashore.
