
San Angelo man charged and taken into custody following Halloween crash that results in 2 deaths.
A man from San Angelo has been taken into custody on several charges, including manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, following a tragic accident that led to the deaths of two individuals, including a 10-year-old child. The 29-year-old, Shelton McDonald, was arrested on August 17 in Tom Green County and is currently being held without bond. He was indicted on two manslaughter charges and one aggravated assault charge, each with a $50,000 bond. The incident occurred on October 31, 2024, at U.S. Highway 87 and March Road in Tom Green County involving three vehicles. Two individuals lost their lives, while three others sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the deceased included 41-year-old Rudy Ramos and a 10-year-old girl. McDonald was the sole occupant of his vehicle and had no injuries, while the driver of the third vehicle also was unharmed. TxDOT's investigation found that the accident was caused when Vehicle #1 failed to stop at a sign, resulting in collisions with Vehicle #2 and Vehicle #3.
