Samuel L. Jackson survives terrifying New York subway accident
Versatile actor Samuel L. Jackson recently revealed a terrifying incident from 1988 when he had a brush with death on a New York subway train. During an interview on the "Mad Sad Bad" podcast with Paloma Faith, the "Pulp Fiction" star described how he was dragged by a moving A train after his foot got caught in the closing doors. Recounting the ordeal, Jackson, now 76, shared the split-second experience of being stuck and dragged towards the tunnel, with no way to escape. Fortunately, a person with crutches on the train intervened, bringing the train to a halt just in time. Jackson reflected on the slow-motion moments of facing mortality and how his thoughts during the incident revolved around the approaching Christmas season and his own birthday, which he feared he would miss. Subsequent to the accident, Jackson underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL, partial meniscus tear, and multiple cartilage damages, requiring a ten-month period on crutches and over a year of physical rehabilitation.
