Safety Concerns Rise After Series of Fatal Accidents on Loudon Road

The recent hit-and-run incident on Loudon Road in Concord on Friday night was not only sad, but unfortunately all too common for residents in the area. The Concord police are currently looking into an accident that took place by the Irving Gas Station on Friday. Following the crash, it was discovered that the vehicle involved had fled the scene. A cyclist involved in the incident was taken to the hospital and tragically passed away. The identity of the individual has not been disclosed. Loudon Road had to be closed for some time on Friday, but has since been reopened. Reflecting on the situation, local resident Curran Donnelly expressed concerns about the safety of the road, mentioning previous accidents. In a separate incident, another pedestrian, 59-year-old Elaine Adams, lost her life on the same road just two months prior. Teyah Overton, a Concord resident, shared her own frightening experience of being hit by another car while driving on Loudon Road. With reports of speeding and a lack of crosswalks on the road, some residents feel unsafe. The Concord Police Department is actively investigating the recent hit-and-run and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash near the Irving Gas Station between 7 and 7:10 p.m. to contact them.
