Two fatal accidents involving commercial trucks occurred near Bozeman this week. The driver admitted to troopers that he was distracted checking his email at the time. Another fatal accident involving a cargo truck occurred the following day at Jackrabbit Lane and Baxter Lane. According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Justin Knapp, recent tragic incidents highlight the critical need for safety on the roads. Maintaining control of speed is crucial, especially for heavier trucks, emphasized by Raylie Poole, a driver, and Mike Gomez, the owner of a trucking company. Trooper Knapp stressed the importance of all drivers, including those operating trucks, following speed limits, remaining focused on the road, and avoiding distractions.
