Sad news: LendingTree CEO Doug Lebda passes away in ATV accident

Doug Lebda, the CEO and founder of LendingTree, tragically passed away in an ATV accident last weekend, as confirmed by the online loaning platform on Monday. LendingTree expressed deep sadness about his unexpected death and offered condolences to his family. The company praised Lebda as a visionary leader who revolutionized the financial services industry, with his drive and passion touching the lives of millions of consumers. Scott Peyree, LendingTree’s chief operating officer and president, has been appointed as the new CEO, while Steve Ozonian will take on the role of chairman of the board. Following the news, LendingTree’s stock fell more than 2% during Monday trading. Lebda founded LendingTree in 1996 to simplify the loan shopping process, and it has since expanded to provide a range of financial services through its online platform. In addition to his work at LendingTree, Lebda also co-founded a financial services platform for families called Tykoon.
