Sacramento-area developer being sued over fatal Granite Bay crash
(FOX40.COM) — The widow of a retired California Highway Patrol officer is suing a Sacramento developer over the Granite Bay crash that killed her husband, a lawyer for the plaintiff announced. A lawyer for Miranda Flores, the widow of retired California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Mulderrig, filed a wrongful death suit in court Tuesday against Phil Oates, chairman of the Buzz Oates Group. Around 6:30 p.m. on May 14, 2024, Oats made an illegal turn, the complaint says, onto Douglas Boulevard near the intersection of Kingsgate Drive and collided with Mulderrig's motorcycle. Mulderrig, 59, died from his injuries. The Placer County District Attorney did not file any charges related to the crash.
