The woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, while the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. In an incident just a few days ago, a 77-year-old woman was fatally hit by a driver at 2350 W 4400 S, who initially fled but later surrendered to authorities. Another incident happened over two weeks ago, when a 9-year-old on a scooter was airlifted after being struck in the same crosswalk as today's incident.
