Route 7 in Ridgefield closed after crash Sunday evening, police say
RIDGEFIELD — Route 7 partially reopened after a crash closed the roadway on Sunday evening, police say. In a post on Facebook, Ridgefield Police Department said the part of Danbury Road that is also Route 7 near the town line was closed due to a motor vehicle accident. Police initially said southbound traffic from Danbury was being detoured onto Bennetts Farm Road, while northbound traffic was closed at the Route 35 section of Danbury Road. They asked that drivers seek alternate routes. At 8 p.m., police said one lane had reopened in each direction. They did not respond to a request for more information about the crash.
