One person is dead following an early morning crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle in Kanawha County. According to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 5800 block of Kanawha Boulevard East around 3:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a head-on collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. Officials say both vehicles sustained severe damage in the crash. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. As of 3:49 a.m., Route 60 (Kanawha Boulevard East) was shut down while emergency crews investigated the crash and worked to clear the roadway.
