Rome Police seeking information on fatal pedestrian accident

ROME, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- Rome Police are looking for the driver of a car that was involved in an accident earlier this month in which one person is now dead. Police were called to the 400 block of West Court Street at approximately 11:40 am on Tuesday, February 3. Further investigation found that a female -- later identified as 39-year-old Zulay Longo of Rome -- was struck by an SUV traveling eastbound on West Court Street. The vehicle then fled the scene toward North Madison Street. Longo was eventually transported by Mercy Flight to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, where Rome Police say she died from her injuries on Wednesday, February 11. Police are now looking for the public's assistance in finding the car, as well as the overall investigation.
