Rollover crash in Randall County leaves 1 dead
A 22-year-old Amarillo man was killed early Sunday morning in a crash on S Western St., according to Texas Highway Patrol investigators. Diego Hernandez,22, was driving a 2022 GMC Sierra on S Western St when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway, hitting a parked goose-neck trailer. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Officials say he was wearing a seat belt. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened at 5:38 a.m. in the 14610 block of S Western St. A preliminary investigation found the GMC was traveling southbound on S Western St. when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The vehicle then struck the parked gooseneck trailer with its front end and rolled over onto its right side. The crash remains under investigation.
