Road detour after deadly crash on I-95
A fatal multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 95 in Colleton County has prompted state troopers to impose a detour near the 41-mile marker southbound. The incident, which occurred at 4:30 p.m., involved numerous vehicles and commercial motor vehicles. I-95 South at the 41-mile marker will remain closed for an extended period, leading to expected delays for drivers. Trooper Nick Pye described the area as an active emergency scene. Traffic is being rerouted at Exit 42 on I-95 South. Motorists can follow a detour route that includes US 21, US 17A, Salkehatchie Rd/Castle Hall Road, and US 17 before merging back onto I-95 at the 33-mile marker.
