Road Accident in Texas: Telugu Student Deepthi Vangavolu Battling for Life

In a tragic incident in the United States, Telugu student Deepthi Vangavolu sustained critical injuries in a severe road accident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday in the city of Denton, Texas. She is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital and remains in a life-threatening condition. According to reports, another young woman, a friend of Deepthi Vangavolu, was also injured in the accident.As per a statement released by the Denton Police Department, the incident took place at approximately 2:12 a.m. on April 12 (Saturday). The collision occurred near the 2300 block of Carrol Al Lago Drive in Denton while Deepthi Vangavolu and her friend were walking home. A speeding, unidentified vehicle struck them with great force. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene without stopping, police said.Local U.S. media reported that the other injured woman is also receiving medical care, though her injuries are not life-threatening.According to Deepthi Vangavolu’s LinkedIn profile, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer and Information Science at the University of North Texas. She completed her Bachelor of Technology in March 2023 from Narasaraopet Engineering College. Her hometown is located in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh.Denton police have intensified their investigation into this hit-and-run case and have released an appeal seeking public assistance in identifying the driver and the vehicle involved in the accident.
