Reunion of teenage survivor and rescuer after tragic incident at Kanopolis Lake

In Kanopolis Lake, Kansas, a tragic boating incident took two lives recently, but also showcased a remarkable act of heroism. Following the accident, 14-year-old Reagen Dalke found herself stranded in the lake until Darryl Lee jumped into the water and fought through rough waves to rescue her. Reflecting on the experience, Lee shared that he acted instinctively upon seeing Reagen in distress. Reagen expressed her gratitude for Lee's swift response, while his wife, Liz, described the event as distressing to witness. In a heartwarming turn of events, a surprise ceremony was held to honor Lee's bravery, bringing comfort to the grieving Dalke family and the community. The Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office even appointed Lee as an honorary deputy in recognition of his heroic deed. The bond formed between Lee and Reagen, as well as their families, has now solidified them as a united, supportive unit.
