Response underway for fatal train and vehicle crash
Multiple fire units are responding to a fatal crash involving a Rail Runner train and vehicle. It happened on state Highway 314 and Elaine Drive.It is confirmed one person inside the vehicle died in the crash, according to the Valencia County Sheriff's Office. No other injuries have been reported.The crash happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22.The Valencia County Fire Department said multiple units are responding. New Mexico State Police and the VCSO are also at the scene.The public is being asked to avoid the area during the response. Northbound lanes in the area have been reduced to one lane.
