Rescuers jump into canal to save surprised Idaho woman from car accident

In an unusual event on Tuesday afternoon, a group of strangers took swift action to rescue a woman trapped in her partly submerged car in a canal along Hawthorne Road. Cassia Myers contacted emergency services while Nate Lee, Mason Bates, and another unidentified individual jumped into the fast-moving waters to assist the woman, Cindy Parker. Parker had been run off the road by a black truck before landing in the canal, which is now being investigated by the Chubbuck Police Department. Myers initially thought the car was empty but noticed Parker inside as it started rotating, prompting her to call for help. Bates, an athletic 16-year-old who had been passing by, courageously swam to the car to try to unlock the door and communicate with Parker. Despite the potential risks involved, Bates and the unidentified man continued the rescue mission, working together to aid Parker.
