Rescue of tow truck driver dangling from McKinney overpass
Emergency crews successfully rescued the tow truck driver involved in an accident that caused the cab to hang off an overpass on the Sam Rayburn Tollway in McKinney. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when the driver lost control while avoiding a disabled vehicle, leading to the truck hitting a concrete barrier and tipping over. Firefighters used a ladder truck to bring the driver to safety, who thankfully only sustained minor injuries. The southbound lanes of the tollway at Hardin Boulevard were temporarily shut down, along with two northbound lanes. The road status post-recovery is still unclear, and there was visible damage to the concrete barrier.
