Rescue by Coast Guard after plane declares emergency and crashes near Connecticut.
The U.S. Coast Guard successfully rescued two individuals from the water following a small plane crash near Branford, Connecticut. The Piper PA-32 aircraft encountered trouble and went down in the Long Island Sound after declaring an emergency while communicating with New York Air Traffic Control. Both individuals were reported to be in stable condition after being rescued and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is currently being investigated by the FAA.
