Report: Tulsa basketball team members and coach die in Kansas bus accident according to KJRH
According to reports from local media, tragically, a total of eight individuals lost their lives in a devastating bus crash that occurred in Kansas on Sunday. Among those who perished were three Tulsa residents, including two students. The victims have been identified as Kyrin Schumpert, a student at Union Freshman Academy, and Donald "DJ" Laster, a student at Booker T. Washington. In response to this heartbreaking incident, Union Public Schools has expressed their deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of the deceased. The community is coming together to provide counseling and support to those affected by this tragic event. Additionally, the crash also claimed the life of a staff member from the school district's transportation department, as well as former Bartlesville paraprofessional and coach Wayne Walls. The accident, which involved two vehicles and resulted in a fire, took place in Franklin County just prior to 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
