Reopening of US-75 in Dallas following fatal pedestrian crash
A fatal crash involving a pedestrian caused the closure of a section of US-75 in Dallas on Wednesday morning. The southbound lanes of the highway at Royal Lane were closed, leading to a traffic jam extending to Richardson during the morning rush hour. The Dallas Police Department received a report of the crash just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, where a woman was hit by several vehicles and passed away at the scene. Traffic was diverted off at the Royal Lane exit onto the service road, with investigators setting up barriers and removing debris from the road. The Texas Department of Transportation dispatched cleanup crews to the site at 8:30 a.m., slightly later than expected. The lanes were reopened and the area cleared by 10 a.m., almost 12 hours after the accident occurred.
