
Reopening of Route 50 in Salem after vehicular collision
Two individuals were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on Route 50 in Salem on Sunday afternoon. Limited details are available, but the Harrison County 911 log reported an injury accident at 12:53 p.m. Initially, one person was taken to United Hospital Center for additional care, and while Route 50 eastbound was temporarily closed, it has since been reopened. Emergency responders from the Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department described the collision as involving two vehicles with significant front-end damage. Following assessments at the scene, two individuals were later transported by the Harrison County Emergency Squad for further treatment. Traffic was briefly halted in both directions to facilitate emergency operations before resuming. The West Virginia State Police Bridgeport Detachment and the Harrison County Sheriff's Office also managed the scene.
