Remsen St. Mary’s honors girls basketball players injured in November bus accident on Senior Night
REMSEN, Iowa (KCAU) - The Remsen St. Mary's girls basketball team returned home for a Senior Night doubleheader against the Lawton-Bronson Eagles. RSM kicked off the doubleheader by honoring the three players who were injured in the November bus accident, putting a spotlight on their strength and courage in returning to the court while sharing a special moment with the community. "In December, I didn't think I would be able to play basketball again. It's just like a one-time thing. They just wanted to make my senior night special, which was just so great, and getting my other two teammates out there with me to experience that together and just bring the whole team together. On Senior Night, I couldn't have asked for a better night," Galles said. "It was a very special moment. I'm having everybody back together for the first time, Senior Night, especially, especially extra special for Grace being our lone senior, getting on the court and allowing her to score. Just the whole team being together for the first time announcing them as starters was a special moment," Remsen St. Mary's head coach Joseph Loutsch added. The final score of the game was Lawton-Bronson 59, Remsen St. Mary's 42.
