Remembering Armuchee High football player killed in crash
A community in Floyd County is currently mourning the tragic loss of a 15-year-old football player who died in a car accident this week. The student, David Clemones, was traveling in a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old teammate when it collided with another vehicle on Calhoun Road near Georgia Loop 1 on Tuesday evening. Clemones, along with two others, was taken to Atrium Health Floyd Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The conditions of the other passengers have not been disclosed, and law enforcement has not yet determined if charges will be filed. Friends and teammates gathered at the crash site to honor Clemones, described as a cheerful and energetic person, who always brought joy to those around him. The entire community is deeply affected, with students and staff receiving support from counselors at Armuchee High School to help them cope with this sudden tragedy.
