Recent footage captures fatal, fiery plane crash in Simi Valley.
New videos obtained by KTLA capture the tragic incident when a small aircraft crashed into a neighborhood in Simi Valley, resulting in two fatalities and a canine aboard, while also causing damage to nearby homes. The event, which occurred in the Wood Ranch community, prompted the response of approximately 40 firefighters to the scene on High Meadow Street. Witness accounts and Ring security footage depict the plane hitting two homes and igniting a destructive fire. Fortunately, residents managed to evacuate before the blaze erupted. An eyewitness who saw the plane flying oddly low and tilted described the harrowing scene, noting that he narrowly avoided the crash site himself. The Ventura County Fire Department later confirmed the devastating news of two victims — the pilot, a passenger, and a dog — lost in the accident. Initial reports suggest that the aircraft belonged to a pilot known for rescuing dogs using his plane, perhaps indicating that the canine involved was one of his rescued animals. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) indicated that a Vans RV-10 crashed in Simi Valley, specifying the departure point from William J. Fox Airfield and the accident location near Wood Ranch Parkway. Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will conduct investigations into the incident.
