Queensbury man airlifted to Albany Med after motorcycle crash

LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On Monday, the Warren County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a serious motorcycle crash in Lake Luzerne. According to deputies, the driver was airlifted as a result of his injuries. Deputies said around 9:13 p.m., crews were dispatched to a serious motorcycle accident on Route 9N. After an inital investigation, it was determined that 56-year-old William Smith, of Queensbury, was riding north on State Route 9N when he lost control of his bike. As a result, he crashed into the guardrail and sustained serious physical injuries. Smith was treated on scene by Lake Luzerne EMS crews but was then flown to Albany Medical Center for further treatment. The Sheriff's Office said deputies on scene were assisted by the New York State Police, Lake Luzerne Volunteer Firefighters, EMS and LifeNet crews.
