
Qatari diplomats die in Egypt accident on the way to Gaza truce agreement.
Three Qatari diplomats tragically lost their lives in a car accident near Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, according to Egyptian state television channel Al Qahera NEWS. The diplomats were part of the delegation accompanying Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Al Thani for negotiations between Israel and Hamas. Qatar's embassy in Egypt confirmed the incident, stating that the vehicle carrying the diplomats, members of the emir's office, overturned about 50 kilometers away from Sharm el-Sheikh. The names of the deceased were identified as Saud bin Thamer Al Thani, Abdullah Ghanem Al-Khayarin, and Hassan Jaber Al-Jaber. Two others were injured and are currently receiving treatment in Sharm el-Sheikh. The bodies of the diplomats and the injured individuals are scheduled to be repatriated to Qatar on a Qatari aircraft. The Qatari Embassy expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by Egyptian authorities. The diplomats were en route to a ceremony marking a Gaza ceasefire agreement when the accident occurred. This event, along with an international conference on Gaza's reconstruction, was hosted by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi. The summit, referred to as "The Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit," is set to take place on Monday afternoon and will be co-chaired by President el-Sissi and U.S. President Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders from over 20 countries. The summit aims to end the conflict in Gaza, enhance peace efforts, and enhance regional security.
