Qatari diplomats die in car accident en route to Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh
Three Qatari diplomats tragically lost their lives in a car accident during their journey to Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt. The incident also left two other diplomats injured when their vehicle overturned about 50 kilometers away from the destination. The diplomats, members of the Qatari protocol team, were en route to the city for a summit marking the ceasefire in the Israel and Hamas conflict in Gaza. Qatar, along with Egypt and the US, played a crucial role in mediating the ceasefire, with Turkiye also joining the negotiations. Sharm el-Sheikh is set to host the summit, which will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, with numerous world leaders expected to attend, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and United Nations Secretary General António Guterres.
