Pursuit leads to fatal crash on Los Angeles County freeway.

A suspect being pursued for theft crashed and died on the 210 Freeway after a high-speed chase spanning Ventura and Los Angeles counties. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident began at a Target store in Camarillo around 10 a.m. upon responding to a grand theft report. The driver fled, leading officers through Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, and Simi Valley before the California Highway Patrol (CHP) took over the pursuit in Los Angeles County around 10:50 a.m. Shortly after, the driver collided with a dump truck, sustaining severe injuries and ultimately passing away at the scene despite officers' resuscitation attempts. The dump truck operator remained unharmed. Traffic congestion persisted in the area for several hours due to the freeway closure necessitated by the accident investigation. Authorities have not disclosed the suspect's identity at this time.
