Private firm employee dies in car crash in Bengaluru

<p>Bengaluru: A 22-year-old private firm employee was killed in a car crash on Lower Agaram Road in the early hours of Wednesday.</p>.<p>The Ashok Nagar traffic police said that Sara Catherine, who was travelling as a co-passenger in a car (KA 01 MW 7815), died after the driver, Pritam Christin, 24, allegedly drove rashly and lost control of the vehicle before crashing into a light pole near the ASC Centre South Gate.</p>.<p>The vehicle went over the median and reportedly hit another pole, completely crushing the front portion of the car. The incident took place around 1.45 am on Wednesday.</p>.<p>Sara sustained severe head and facial injuries and fell unconscious. Passersby rushed her to a nearby hospital in an autorickshaw, where she was declared dead on arrival. Christin, meanwhile, sustained minor injuries.</p>.<p>The police said that Sara was a resident of Vivek Nagar and worked for a private company.</p>.<p>Her younger brother, Allen Benjamin, filed a complaint at the Ashok Nagar traffic police station, seeking action against Christin.</p>.<p>A case has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 281 (rash and negligent driving on a public way) and 106 (1) (causing death by negligence), and an investigation is underway.</p>
