Power outage at Bellevue Woman's Center and surrounding areas due to Route 7 car accident
A car accident on Route 7 in Niskayuna near Bellevue Woman's Center caused a telephone pole to be severed and brought down a main power line, resulting in a power outage for the hospital and surrounding homes. The accident has led to the closure of the road between Mohegan and Algonquin Road. According to fire officials, two individuals sustained minor injuries and were taken to Ellis Hospital for treatment. This particular stretch of Route 7 has unfortunately experienced previous serious accidents and fatalities. A spokesperson for Bellevue Woman's Center mentioned that the facility is currently running on generator power following the crash, and reassured that they have robust contingency plans in place to ensure uninterrupted patient care. Power has been partially restored to the hospital.
