Power Outage and Road Closure Caused by Solo Car Crash

Early on Sunday morning near the intersection of North McColl Road and West University Drive in Edinburg, Texas, a car crash involving a single vehicle led to a power outage. The Edinburg Police Department reported that a green pickup truck collided with a utility pole, causing electrical wires to fall across the roadway at the 600 block of North McColl Road. As a safety precaution, authorities have temporarily closed North McColl Road between West University Drive and Wet Schunior Road in both directions. The incident also resulted in a widespread loss of power in the area, but utility crews are on site working to restore service within the hour. The situation is currently under investigation.
