Police suspect speed was a contributing factor in deadly Mosheim collision
Tragically, a fatal accident occurred on West Andrew Johnson Highway in Mosheim resulting in the loss of one individual's life. As per the Mosheim Police Department's report, a semi-truck driver recounted slowing down due to a vehicle turning in front of him, and subsequently being struck from behind by a Toyota RAV4. The investigation revealed no evidence of braking by the Toyota driver, identified as Lisa Coffey, who unfortunately passed away at the scene. The report indicated that distraction and excessive speed likely contributed to the collision, as the victim attempted to switch lanes to avoid the crash with no time for corrective action.
