Police say suspected drunk driver caused chaos during chase.

A 31-year-old woman is now in custody after a high-speed chase that concluded with her crashing near a residence in West St. Paul. Minnesota State Patrol initiated the pursuit after a trooper tried to pull her over for speeding on Interstate 94 and I-35E at around 1:35 a.m. The chase was called off near Highway 52 and Butler Avenue, but a patrol helicopter continued to monitor her reckless driving. Ultimately, she collided with a parked car on the border of St. Paul and West St. Paul, careening at freeway speeds and landing in a front yard on Cherokee Avenue. Following the crash, the woman, a St. Paul resident, was taken to the hospital for possible injuries. It is not confirmed if the house was occupied or if anyone else was injured. The woman was subsequently arrested and booked into Ramsey County Jail on charges of fleeing authorities and suspicion of driving under the influence.
