Police report incident involving pedestrian hit and killed in Asheville after earlier citation for impeding traffic.
A pedestrian, identified as Larry Lamont McQueen, was tragically struck and killed by a car on Tunnel Road in Asheville. The incident, which occurred on March 3, revealed that McQueen was cited for crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk. Asheville police reported that McQueen stepped into the roadway and was hit by a Toyota Sienna minivan while crossing. Although McQueen had been cited for impeding traffic on the night of the accident, the investigation ultimately concluded that no charges would be pressed against the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident. The Buncombe County District Attorney's Office was consulted in this decision.
