Police pursuit from Baton Rouge leads to I-10 collision
UPDATE, 3:45 p.m.: The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that traffic on I-10 eastbound from I-49 to Whiskey Bay is now flowing again. In another update at 3 p.m., Louisiana State Police reported that a crash occurred following a police pursuit of a stolen vehicle originating in Baton Rouge, traveling westbound on I-10. After turning around in the median near Henderson and heading back towards Baton Rouge, the driver crashed near Whiskey Bay, sustaining injuries and being arrested at a local hospital. The original incident caused a closure of eastbound I-10 near the I-49 interchange in Lafayette, diverting traffic to I-49 northbound and U.S. 190.
