Police probe deadly single-car DUI accident in Tracy
The Tracy Police Department is currently looking into a tragic single-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday evening. Police officers were called to the scene on Holly Drive late that night, responding to reports of the crash. During a DUI investigation conducted by the officers, an adult male was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Although the man did not show signs of injury initially and declined medical help at the scene, he later collapsed and lost consciousness. Despite immediate medical aid, he was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have confirmed that no force was used during the incident, and it appears the man may have experienced a medical emergency post-arrest. The man's identity will be disclosed by the Medical Examiner after notifying his next of kin. The General Investigations Unit of the Tracy Police Department is carrying out a thorough investigation in accordance with department policies, in collaboration with the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
