Police probe deadly motorcycle crash in San Juan County
In the morning of July 8, authorities were alerted to reports of a motorcyclist speeding at 120 mph and driving recklessly near the junction of Aztec Boulevard (Highway 516) and Main Street (Highway 550) in Aztec, NM. At around 12:02 p.m., a collision was reported at the same location. Deputies reached the crash site following the reports. While the officers were not chasing the motorcycle, the driver, Dominic Villarial, 29, still made dangerous maneuvers to evade the authorities. The San Juan County Sheriff's Office Traffic Reconstruction Unit was called in to investigate the incident. Unfortunately, Villarial was thrown from the motorcycle during the crash and was taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center by emergency services, where he was pronounced dead. Speed was identified as the main factor contributing to the crash. Stay updated with Action 7 News On The Go app: Download for free.
