Police officer hurt in fast chase near Billings; collision causes grass blaze
The Montana Highway Patrol trooper is in recovery following a pursuit resulting in a fatal crash and roadside fire on Highway 3 near Billings. The incident began when the trooper tried to stop a speeding vehicle, leading to a chase. Unfortunately, the suspect's vehicle crashed head-on into a semi-truck, resulting in the suspect's death. The trooper's patrol car also rolled, causing non-life-threatening injuries. Both the trooper and the semi-truck driver were taken to the hospital.
