Police officer and driver injured in Largo crash, investigation leads to road closure.
The Largo Police Department reported that both an officer and a driver were hospitalized with injuries after a traffic accident before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. The incident, which involved a collision between two vehicles on East Bay Drive and Country Club Drive, also resulted in damage to a power pole, requiring Duke Energy to be on site for repairs. The area is currently closed for investigation, with all westbound lanes of East Bay Drive closed and being rerouted at Alt. Keene Road. It is advised that the public steer clear of the area while investigators work to determine the cause of the crash.
