Police officer and 2 kids hurt in crash flown to hospital

A serious collision involving a Baytown police officer and a vehicle carrying several children is currently under investigation by the Baytown Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team. The incident took place at the intersection of West Baker Road and Country Club Drive on Thursday evening. The police officer, driving a marked patrol car, sustained a leg injury and was transported by Life Flight for medical treatment. His condition is reported as stable. The other vehicle involved was a 2023 Honda Odyssey, driven by a woman with five minors as passengers. Two of the children were airlifted to a nearby hospital, while the woman and the remaining children received on-scene treatment. The cause of the crash is unknown, and the extent of injuries to the children has not been disclosed.
