Police investigate fatal I-95 crash by reviewing car's electronic data recorder

A search warrant obtained by News 9 Investigates has provided insight into the ongoing police investigation of a fatal head-on crash on Interstate 95 last autumn. WMUR requested the warrant, which details the steps being taken by state police to understand the causes of a deadly crash in Greenland that occurred in October, marking the first of three collisions under investigation. The crash took place between Exits 2 and 3 on I-95 in mid-afternoon on October 16. Stephen Le, a resident of Methuen, Massachusetts, was driving north in a Toyota Camry when his vehicle entered the southbound lanes, resulting in a collision with a U-Haul truck and the tragic deaths of both Le and the U-Haul driver, Leslie Lynn of Roanoke, Virginia. The court documents indicate that a passenger in the U-Haul truck sustained serious injuries. A warrant was issued to search the electronic data recorder of the Toyota Camry as potential evidence in a negligent homicide inquiry. Witnesses have reported that the Camry was traveling at speeds ranging from 80 to 100 mph just prior to the crash, with one witness describing the vehicle suddenly veering across the median. The car is currently held at the New England Truck Center in Exeter, and efforts are being made to ascertain if authorities have accessed the recorder. Following the string of serious accidents on the northern stretch of I-95, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation has initiated a $3.5 million project to install median barriers between mile markers 8 and 13, projected for completion by next spring.
