Police in Jackson seek pickup truck after deadly ATV crash

The Jackson police are currently in search of a pickup truck involved in a tragic accident that took the life of 22-year-old Brendon Keys. The collision occurred when a four-wheeler, in which Keys was a passenger, was hit by two pickup trucks near Interstate 20 on Gallatin Street. The driver of the four-wheeler sustained critical injuries. To honor Keys, a memorial has been placed near the site of the accident. Jamal Rizki, who manages the Byram Motorsports Shop that sells all-terrain vehicles, emphasized the importance of recognizing that these vehicles are powerful machines and should not be treated as toys. As ATVs are not meant for street use, Rizki stressed the importance of adhering to age and speed restrictions and never allowing passengers on them. Rizki urged parents to set limits on ATV usage by their children to prevent similar incidents from occurring. Surveillance footage showed a white pickup truck directly colliding with the four-wheeler, causing it to be tossed onto a nearby SUV before landing on the opposite side of the highway. Unfortunately, the driver of the pickup truck left the scene shortly after the collision, despite walking over to inspect the injured parties on the four-wheeler. Rizki expressed sympathy for the victims and highlighted the need for accountability in such situations. If anyone has information related to the fatal crash, they are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
